Arguably the best football league in the world, the Spanish La Liga's popularity has spiralled over the past few years. Examining what makes the La Liga so attractive is interesting as it is completely different from what makes any other league work. The La Liga is it own beast, as you surely will discover.

The popularity of the La Liga is emphasised more through its individual brilliance rather than by its hardworking team ethics. With some of the best players in the world based in Spain, the quality seen week in week out in La Liga is without a doubt the most electric in Europe. Players such as David Villa, Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto'o and many more provide bind blowing dribbles, emphatic goals and seem to have glue on their boots. With Lionel Messi in his unstoppable form, a certainty to pick up this years World Player of the Year, no one can take their eyes off the energetic individualism shown every week in the La Liga.

The teams in the La Liga are rich in history and historically the La Liga has provided a vast amount of winning sides domestically and in European competition. The team at the minute making the world stand up would appear to be the unstoppable Barcelona. A goal fest every week seems to be the norm, Barcelona have already scored over 80 goals this season. With their tactical objective to defend from the front, they have seen real results. Looking unplayable at the minute no team in the La Liga is safe and Barcelona find themselves cruising to a domestic double.

Although Real Madrid can be seen to be pushing Barcelona all the way to try and regain their title the real battle is happening at the bottom. With one of the most tense relegation battles in years, not many teams are safe from the drop and everyone in the bottom half of the league is involved in the race for survival.
Quickly becoming the most entertaining league in the world the next step for Spanish teams would be European domination.
